The Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival will be taking place September 9–11 2011, at the Lake Shirley, Water Ski Park located at 365 Murdock Road.
Intrepid Dezine has been a proud sponsor of the Dragon Boat Festival for many years and is the official clothing supplier for the event!
The Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival is a weekend of fun, entertainment, and racing. Over 130 teams will “Race For Research”.
Over $2.5 million has been raised from the festival with over $350,000 raised in 2010!
Originating in China in the 4th century BC, Dragon Boating has become an increasingly popular sport all over the world bringing together both corporate and community teams.
The boats are propelled by 20 paddlers kept on a 500 meter course by a steersperson and kept in sync by a drummer. Total team work and a little competitive spirit make each race exciting!
Whether you are a participant or a spectator, the Dragon Boat Festival promises to offer a weekend of fun and excitement along with camaraderie and everlasting memories.
