2007 what a year!

I’ve been meaning to sit down and make a blog entry for months but just haven’t been able to find the time or maybe it’s because I haven’t found the right topic(s) to write about. As I sit back and ponder what slick looking image I should create for our home page to replace the "happy new year" one that I posted at 5:00a.m. on Jan 1,2008, I couldn’t help but think what an incredible year 2007 was.
To say there were some changes in 07 would be an huge understatement.
After giving birth to a healthy baby boy, Wendy Kolsun our senior account rep spent most of 2007on mat leave. Congrats Wendy!!! Which meant the boys were on their own, Wendy being the only female in the office at that time took on the role of mother years prior to having her boy let me tell ya. Ha, Ha.
Some several months later we were introduced to the energetic, bubbly Jennifer Semenchuk. With three years of experience in the promotional product industry we felt she would be a great fit with us here at Intrepid and she did as well. We are very happy that Jennifer came to work with us in early March and I have to say she’s a perfect fit. Jen won’t be "Semenchuk" for too much longer as she and Dave put the final touches on their spring wedding.
With sadness we lost one of our long term employees Ron Howe. NO he didn’t die! He accepted a great position at Dynamex Courier as a sales rep. Ron is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and will do a fantastic job at his new position. We wish him all the best.
Everything works out for a reason I guess. We quickly filled the production coordinator position with Lorne Osada a former co-worker of Jennifer’s. What a welcomed addition Lorne is to our team. This guy has a memory like an elephant!! He knows where every job is at every moment. We couldn’t have made it through the holiday season without him. I have to admit...... we now play a little country music in the office thanks to Lorne.
Enter Robyn Koskey our support person extraordinaire. She left Splash Promotions to join our team in August. She really has become instrumental in keeping us up and running. If it needs to be done, she gets it done! She comes with great knowledge and a great attitude. Between accounting duties, she keeps our showroom current and our website content fresh and up to date. Keep Rockin’ out!!!
Wendy returned from mat leave. "More girls in the office" she squeals with delight.
Welcome back Wendy we missed you!!!!!!!
After several meetings at the local Tim Horton’s Kelly Knight also formerly of Splash Promotions joined us here at Intrepid. Kelly has 10 years experience in our industry and list of clients to prove it. In addition to clients, Kelly brought new vendors and new insights. This guy has the most impressive collection of green sweaters. They look so good that Brad and I each went out and bought one for ourselves. Thanks for coming aboard!
In addition to all the NEW staff, juggling new clients and talking about our kids, we managed the time to launch our NEW website of which we are very proud. (leave us a comment).
We’ll be travelling to Toronto for the PPAC (promotional products association of Canada) Show at the end of January. Hopefully we’ll be bringing back tons of fresh, new innovative ideas where we will post right here on our website. Check back often!
